Who We Are

A society, a secretariat, an institution

Persatuan Promosi Matlamat Pembangunan Lestari (PPMPL) — Society for Promotion of Sustainable Development Goals — is a Malaysian registered society (Registration PPM-023-14-07012020). It was established in 2020 as the legal entity and Secretariat supporting the All-Party Parliamentary Group Malaysia on Sustainable Development Goals (APPGM-SDG), managing programme implementation, staffing, partnerships, research arrangements and funding associated with APPGM-SDG's work. Government funding for APPGM-SDG has historically been channelled through PPMPL, including allocations from the Ministry of Finance.

Our History

Since 2020, PPMPL has evolved beyond its initial focus on localising the SDGs through APPGM-SDG. Building on years of grassroots engagement, community solutions, research and cross-sector partnerships, PPMPL has progressively developed an interconnected ecosystem addressing different dimensions of sustainable and inclusive development.

Our Approach

PPMPL works as an ecosystem builder rather than a single-project implementer. Localisation created community relationships, practitioner networks, evidence, knowledge, partnerships and institutional capability. Those accumulated assets enabled PPMPL to build specialised platforms — moving from projects, to platforms, to an ecosystem, to social development infrastructure.
